Matthew Melnyk, SE
Principal

Matthew Melnyk is a licensed engineer with a particular interest in long-span structures, structural dynamics, and applying advanced computation to engineering problems. A founding partner of NOUS engineering, Matthew has managed multiple large-scale projects within the US; led significant overhauls of retail environments like the flagship KHAITE store and the Meta store, both in Los Angeles; and been instrumental to NOUS’ growth from a small engineering firm to a globally-impactful player. Matthew regularly lectures and teaches, and has frequently taught at SCI-Arc, where his studios focus on bridging the gap between architectural design and structural performance. He holds degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley, and is registered in California and Colorado.
