Weightless Monument
At Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the Weightless Monument spans the concourse as a 90-foot field of chain gathered into catenary curves.
Shaped by gravity rather than rigid structure, the swooping forms of catenary curves create an atmospheric feeling, shifting with the movement and the light. NOUS navigated the technical and logistical challenges of working in airports, collaborating with BNS to bring their vision to life.
