UnStack House
A new 3,000-square-foot, three-story hillside residence in northeast Los Angeles, UnStack House comprises a cascading stack of shifting volumes.
Embedded into the steep site, the design uses overlapping volumes to connect indoor and outdoor spaces, offering expansive views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Working with FreelandBuck, NOUS closely coordinated site constraints, architectural form, and structural design to enable a cohesive solution that accommodates a variety of occupancy arrangements and unifies the distinct volumes into a clear, expressive composition.
