UnStack House is a new 3,000 SF, three-story hillside residence in northeast Los Angeles, composed of a cascading stack of shifted volumes. Embedded into the steep site, the design uses overlapping volumes to connect indoor and outdoor spaces, offering expansive views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Close coordination among site constraints, architectural form, and structural design enabled a cohesive solution that accommodates a variety of occupancy arrangements and unifies the distinct volumes into a clear, expressive composition.
