PROJECT HOMEKEY
Los Angeles, CA USA
In Progress

Seeking to leverage an underutilized existing building stock, Project Homekey renovates and reuses existing motels for both transitional and permanent housing. Nous has provided structural assessments and rehabilitations for multiple building conversions. A recent conversion, highlighted in Deezen, designed by Kadre Architects, transforms a 20,000 SF motel built in 1984 into a shelter for families transitioning out of homelessness in LA's Westlake neighborhood, one block north of MacArthur Park. As a method for rapid expansion, we hope these projects contribute to a lasting housing solution in Los Angeles.
