Orange County Museum of Art

A remarkably complex project which supported both architectural needs and the preservation and relocation of a historic mural.

This relationship, deliberately designed by Morphosis, between indoor and outdoor space relies on smart engineering: NOUS worked with Radius Track to engineer the support for the doubly-curved terracotta exterior cladding and the interior curved drywall. The result is a building that encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the celebrated climate of Southern California, where light, air, and space have influenced generations of artists.
