Lovell Health House
The first steel-framed residence in the United States, Richard Neutra’s landmark 1929 Lovell Health House remains an icon of modern architecture.
For its rehabilitation, NOUS provided seismic assessment and structural design services, analyzing the innovative structure in accordance with ASCE 41 Tier 1-3 procedures. Working with Escher GuneWardena Architecture and Neutra scholar Dr. Barbara Lamprecht, NOUS developed strategies to restore the home’s structural integrity while preserving its pioneering architectural character.
