KHAITE TI
The Khaite store on Melrose Avenue anchors the luxury fashion brand's West Coast presence, bringing its signature minimalist aesthetic to Los Angeles.
Designed by Griffin Frazen in collaboration with architect Standard, the tenant improvement occupies an existing unreinforced masonry building. NOUS Engineering developed the structural design for modifications to the interior walls, as well as new partitions, custom fixtures, and furniture, carefully limiting the structural modifications to avoid triggering a seismic retrofit of the existing structure. The result preserves the building while supporting the clean lines and precise detailing central to the design.
