Guerin Institute

At the Guerin Family Institute (GFI), a renovation transformed a series of dark classrooms into an open space that embodies the ethos of the Milken Community School.

NOUS provided structural engineering services to make this transformation possible, creating an open space that allows for countless configurations and makes it easier to replace outdated equipment as technology advances. The renovation, led by Lehrer Architects, includes approximately 3,600 square feet of cutting-edge facilities—including robotics, electronics, and fabrication labs—illuminated by diffused glass skylights. Further glazing provides views out onto the Sepulveda Canyon, forging a connection between the institute and its natural surroundings.
