The Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center
Designed to support both the campus and its surrounding community, the Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center houses Vista Del Mar’s innovative therapeutic performing arts program.
In order to accommodate the expansive program—dance, music, teaching, theatrical productions, and a 300-seat theater—the existing building, which included a 1960s temple, was preserved and expanded. The 3,325-square-foot addition houses ongoing Jewish Life Programs, as well as rehearsal, stagecraft, dressing, and classroom spaces. This space designed by AUX Architecture, a translucent prism, wraps the existing theater and turns it into a glowing new center for the campus.
