Delfina Foundation
A remarkably complex project which supported both architectural needs and the preservation and relocation of a historic mural.
Partnering with the Foundation, NOUS developed the project brief and managed the architectural competition for its new, expanded home. The winning design by Studio Octopi stripped back layers of ornament to reveal original craftsmanship, removed the central bearing wall, and introduced skylights to flood interiors with natural light. To facilitate the completion of this new vision, NOUS provided analysis, structural design for the removal of load-bearing elements, and methodology for construction sequencing.
