Under the Helm’s Bakery marquee in Culver City this was a new rustic Italian restaurant lead by up and coming chef Evan Funke.
The restaurant featured a new interior mezzanine for private dining and back of the house operations including a full walk-in freezer. The new additions were required to be structurally isolated from the historic building construction to avoid costly seismic upgrades, i.e. a box within a box. The project successfully coordinated food and beverage components in open kitchen environment with strict architectural design requirements.
